Barclaycard

Inspired by a colleague’s memory, The Barclaycard USA Cycle Challenge united colleagues, senior leaders, Corporate partners and charities from different continents, to achieve a single goal in a new and different way.
The team of eight riders from the UK and the US cycled 3,086 miles from the east cost to west coast of the United States to raise more than £200,000. Their 40-day journey, crossing deserts and mountain ranges, was supported by more than 2,000 colleagues who sponsored them and raised money for the project. Each rider cycled in aid of their chosen charity offering sterling support to our Partnership Project. The venture also won the team their Chairman’s Special Award.

Shoezone
Long term corporate supporters of Cord, the company chose to help refugees who are returning home after years of war to find their country devastated and their homes destroyed. Cord is working to help rebuild roads and bridges, provide a seed bank, build new homes and repair schools.
‘Shoezone’s generosity means that our Country Director and his team will be able to get about and work much more effectively in this huge region’ said Cord’s International Director, Brian Wakley. ‘Our existing vehicle has served in Mozambique and Tanzania and done loyal service, but it is literally falling apart and is unreliable. This gift will make all the difference.’ More information...
Standard Observer Newspaper Group
Standard Observer Newspaper Group gave Cord long running publicity via a major fundraising appeal for our KITWOBEE beekeeping programme in Northern Uganda. The Busy Bee Appeal caught the public’s imagination and initiated numerous individuals to sign up as regular Cord supporters, as well as raising a considerable sum for equipment.
