Trusts and Foundations

Support from trusts and foundations can make a huge difference to our work.  We welcome the opportunity to build successful relationships with new and existing partners, so that together we can help the world’s most marginalised people to rebuild their lives.

Trusts may wish to donate to our general fund. This income is particularly welcome as it offers us the flexibility to better respond to conflict situations as they arise. However, we understand that some donors require specific project proposals for innovative work in order to meet their funding objectives.

Recent trust support has enabled us to:

• Provide families and children in Burundi with fresh, clean water and improved sanitation, both in their villages and schools
• Provide education in 23 schools for Dafuri refugee children living in camps in Chad

To ensure that philanthropy merits the respect and trust of the general public, and that donors and prospective donors can have full confidence in Cord we promise to:

• Inform trusts of our mission, of the way we intend to use donated resources, and of our capacity to use donations effectively for their intended purposes.
• Give access to Cord's most recent financial statements.
• Guarantee that gifts will be used for the purposes for which they were given.
• Give trusts the appropriate acknowledgement and recognition.
• Offer assurance that information about their donation is handled with respect and with confidentiality to the extent provided by law.
• Ensure that relationships with our donors are professional.
