Trusts and Foundations

Cord aims to deliver sustainable help for those affected by violent conflict. To strive for our vision of creating a world in which people affected by war live in their homeland with security, justice and freedom; having access to the resources they need to develop their lives, so that they might be at peace with their neighbours.

Support from trusts and foundations can make a huge difference to our work.  We welcome the opportunity to build successful relationships with new and existing partners, so that together we can help the world’s most marginalised people to rebuild their lives.

Trusts may wish to donate to our general fund. This income is particularly welcome as it offers us the flexibility to better respond to conflict situations as they arise.

At Cord we understand also that some donors require specific project proposals for innovative work in order to meet their funding objectives.

Recent trust support has enabled us to:

  • Provide families and children in Burundi with fresh, clean water and improved sanitation, both in their villages and schools
  • Run a vaccination programme of healthcare for Sudanese refugees in Chad

To ensure that philanthropy merits the respect and trust of the general public, and that donors and prospective donors can have full confidence in Cord we promise to:

  • Inform trusts of our mission, of the way we intend to use donated resources, and of our capacity to use donations effectively for their intended purposes.
  • Give access to Cord's most recent financial statements.
  • Guarantee that gifts will be used for the purposes for which they were given.
  • Give trusts the appropriate acknowledgement and recognition.
  • Offer assurance that information about their donation is handled with respect and with confidentiality to the extent provided by law.
  • Ensure that all relationships with individuals representing organisations of interest to the donor will be professional in nature.
