Dinner for Darfur
|
It was in 2004 that people began to flee the genocide in Darfur, across the border into Chad. More than 250,000 of them are now in 12 camps in eastern Chad, struggling to survive in typical daytime temperatures of 40°C, with no running water and no electricity. Cord is one of the few agencies that have been working in this insecure and inhospitable region since 2004; helping people build a new life, supporting the refugees’ education, welfare services and income-generating projects. Sixty per cent of those we work with are aged 18 and under; many are orphans. By hosting a Dinner for Darfur you will enable us to continue to show God’s love in practical ways, knowing your support will be spent directly in helping these people. Getting StartedCord can provide a special Dinner for Darfur CD-ROM featuring:
