CORD’s American partners, the Book Wish Foundation, today announced they have reached their funding target for 270 more books for our schools programme with Sudanese refugee children in Chad.
Donations from Book Wish are enabling our secondary schools programme to flourish, and opening up real possibilities of the more able students being able to qualify for university entrance. Anne Goddard, CORD’s Education Manager in Bredjing and Treguine Camps, said she was delighted that more donors across the US are positively engaged in helping our work. ‘Our students are making tremendous strides with this new and up to date material.’ she said. ‘It is no exaggeration to say the books are making the world of difference to our study programme.’ |

The second shipment of Headway literacy and English Learning books will be on their way from Oxford University Press via Air France in time for the new school year in October.
