Cyclist hits Britain's Extremities for Cord

Monday, 11 May 2009 09:19

Midland businessman Richard Young has completed 1,000 miles of his extreme cycle ride from Land’s End to John O’Groats in aid of Cord.

Richard, 44, is taking the scenic route for his solo journey, visiting the far flung corners of GB – including The Lizard (S), Ardnamurchan Point (W), Cape Wrath (NW), Dunnet Head (N), Duncansby Head (NE), Cape Cornwall (Britain's other Cape) and the Orkneys.
Despite generally wet and wild weather conditions, he’s currently on target to complete the challenge in 20 days covering a total of 1,200 miles.

Richard, who confesses he’s never been an avid cyclist, is using the latest technology for the trip, including gs mapping, a blog and updating his pedal power with daily pictures of the places he’s been and the extraordinary people he’s met en route.
