Livelihoods are Key to Peace

Helping people who have lost everything to rebuild their lives is key to CORD’s work. This means encouraging them to build on their strengths and resources so that they can begin to improve their situation, and to provide for themselves and their families.

Our approach is about restoring the dignity of those who find themselves caught up in conflict, living in exile as refugees with little hope of returning to their homeland in the near future.

CORD’s livelihoods programme is a way of taking back control, of developing and using their skills and trades to become self reliant, rather than depending exclusively on aid. It’s a great morale booster.
