CORD's work with local partners

In working in countries affected by violent conflict, CORD’s preferred way is to join in partnership with local community-based organisations and non governmental organisations where they exist.

This means that CORD is fully aware of what is really happening at grassroots level. We also use our skills and resources to build the strengths of these local organisations, helping them to be more effective in the work that they do. These partnerships give long term ownership of projects to the people whose lives they touch.

Our aim is always to support peacebuilding, be this through education; by supporting livelihoods and helping people to earn an income; or by tackling the big issues of HIV and AIDS, women’s rights, and protecting and nourishing the environment.

Working in partnership gives people a real chance to improve their lives.

To rebuild trust and hope so they can begin to build a new life after conflict.
