  • 78% of people are Christian
  • 2 million people have been internally displaced because of the fighting
  • 35,000 children were abducted as child soldiers who made up 80% of the rebel forces frontline
  • Girls were taken as sexual slaves, many becoming child mothers
  • 1,000 people died every week because of violence or disease accross northern Uganda
  • Life expectancy is 49.7 years of age
  • There is widespread poverty and malnourishment
