One in Three women around the world suffers physical or sexual violence in her lifetime.

Khut, and her eight year old daughter, lived in constant fear of being beaten by her husband. There was no one to turn to — Cambodian culture widely accepts domestic violence. She couldn’t see a way out, so she attempted suicide — several times.

With support from a women’s group she divorced her husband. But that wasn’t all. With the help of training she now values herself and is an independent woman helping others to escape abuse.

Women ARE breaking free from violence — we’re helping them. Our partners across Africa and Asia are rebuilding women’s confidence and empowering them to speak out against all forms of violence.
