Cord has a long and proud history of working with communities worldwide to build their capacity for peace. Cord recognises that when relationships break down between people and those holding power people's rights are ignored, the likelihood of conflict then increases, and poverty is prolonged.

The focus of our global strategy is on transforming the dysfunctional relationships into ones that create peaceful and inclusive societies where everyone can live free from fear and with freedom to flourish.

We are looking for an experienced programme manager to lead the implementation of Cord's programme in Laos and contribute to the development of the future programme.

This role would suit someone with a detailed understanding of Lao civil society.

This role needs someone with good all round project management skills to coordinate implementation, manage project budgets, monitor impact and report to donors. You will need to pick up and manage a large number of relationships effectively and provide excellent management of staff, consultants, partner contracts and service providers.

The purpose of the Programme manager's role is focussed across 4 main areas:

Programme Development, Programme Management, internal capacity development and Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability & Learning (MEAL)

At the time of joining the post holder will manage two ongoing projects coordinating implementation of project work plans, the close out of a third and the start up of a fourth. Alongside management of the existing programme, a key priority in the near term will be to develop the programme further including preparing new project concepts in collaboration with team members and partners.

If you have a proactive and participatory approach and care passionately about civil society in Laos and its role in Lao national development, we would love to hear from you
