Cord is an international NGO working to make peace a reality in restrictive contexts where people have limited freedom to exercise their rights.  Cord is looking for volunteers to support our programmes department with a number of small projects that will help us to grow our programmes and contribute to building meaningful and lasting peace:

  • Developing communications materials for embassies and institutional donors about Cord’s projects, strategy and approach
  • Carrying out research into potential new areas of work and exploring opportunities for new country programmes
  • Researching and producing context analysis documents on the current human rights situation in each of Cord’s country programmes
  • Supporting the training needs of Cord’s global team and researching training providers and opportunities
  • Consolidating key data from all country programmes and supporting in the production of an outcome report

As a Programmes Volunteer, you’ll gain hands-on experience in the Programme Development department of an international NGO. You’ll have the opportunity to use your research and analytical skills to contribute across all areas of Cord’s programmes work, including project design, fundraising with institutional and governmental donors, organisational development and reporting. Working with the UK-based Programme Development Group and Country teams in Burundi, Cambodia and Laos, you’ll gain experience in human rights programming, peacebuilding and the not-for-profit sector and contribute to standalone projects to support Cord’s work.

If you’re interested to support in any of these areas, please send us a two page CV and a one page Cover Letter explaining your motivation and experience, identifying which project(s) you’d be interested to work on and your availability.

We’re open to you supporting remotely, and working around your schedule, so if you’re interested to be involved in Cord’s life-changing work, do get in touch. We look forward to hearing from you!

Please send your CV and Cover Letter to [email protected] with the subject line: Programmes Volunteer Application.

Closing Date: Wednesday 30th September at 23:59 GMT

Applications will be reviewed on an ongoing basis, so please apply as soon as possible.
