The Chittagong Hill Tracts region of Bangladesh is home to 11 indigenous communities. They have been living in the region for centuries. The forest has provided for them. Families have protected the environment by only taking the resources they need. The communities have taken care of the forest and the forest has taken care of them.

Their land is taken and the environment is damaged

But now indigenous people are losing their land rights and access to natural resources. Private businesses, the army and government authorities are taking the land. They are damaging the environment and degrading the soil. Families are being driven from their homes and the forests that supported them.

Help to protect families and their homes

With your support we can help Nitimoy and thousands like him. We can protect their homes, their land and their future. Working through our partner Green Hills, we can build relationships between communities, businesses and authorities. We can help them improve their knowledge of land rights and environmental protection. Your gift will help develop trusting relationships that will build lasting peace in the Chittagong Hill Tracts.

Donate today to protect families and the forest where they live.
